With a new moto for the year, they will be more work to see on my blog, Facebook page, website and instagram account. There is the latest body of work.
I haven't been posting anything lately as I am in the process of a major facelift for my websites as well as for this blog. I am fortunate enough to be one of the students of decor 8 ecourse "Blogging your way" which it an ABSOLUTE inspiration.. I have only read the first tip given by Holly and I have redesign my blog and part of one of my website. It is like choosing the right canvas to express myself, the right paper to paint on, my websites and blogs should be a reflection of me and therefore I need to make sure I present myself in the right way.
As we get older - or wiser ;-D - we tend to change and I wanted my websites and blogs to reflect this.
I might take time away from my studio but it feels like a necessity, like when I clean my studio prior to start a new project.. until everything seem back in order I can't be in my creative zone..
So please stay connected as I am getting myself ready for sharing more and more about my love of arts, colours and much more.. See you soon! Pascale, art-on-surface.com
The St.George OpenAir Cinema located adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney with the Opera House and the city as a back drop, you know that are at the right location...
In this beautiful scenery, I went to see Samasara with my friend Valerie and this was such an experience.. The emotions were going from joy, love, compassion, peace and then the confronting pictures came alive in front of us, without word expressed, the emotion and tension were heavy.. sadness, ashamed.. an emotional sincerity between the beauty of the world and the contradiction of human existence and action on this planet.. Very moving
A movie not to be missed, a great inspiration for me as I am working on my next show and between the rainbow of colours and the power of this movie, my heart and mind are full of words and stories.
It is about time that my blog be in the menu bar on my website.
I have decided to create an article every 2 weeks so I can give some tips on colours, display my latest artworks or work in progress, share some information about a new product, an opening, an exhibition and so on.
Depending on my inspiration, I might be able to post more than every 2 weeks but for now let's keep it this way until I have enough to talk about ;-D
I've always liked the artwork of Mark Rothko. The colour palette used and the emotions that come out of his artwork are so powerful that I need to think and feel what type of colours I was going to play with to create this new artwork.
Mark Rothko's colour palette is sitting from light, bright to dark colours.
I decided to use acrylic Australian Sienna, Deep Rose Madder and Zinc White. Using a binder and water for the acrylic to be transparent and create layers on the canvas.
Step 1: A table covered and a blank canvas
Step 2: the Australian Sienna acrylic mixed with binder and water to create the background of the canvas.
Step 3: After the background is dry, create the first 2 layers by applying Australian Sienna tinted (Zinc White added to Australian Sienna - tint: a colour that is softened by the addition of white) on the top part and Australian Sienna mixed with a small percentage of water to keep the opacity of the paint.
Step 4: Adding a runny Australian Sienna on top of both layers when the paint is still wet to create a texture.
Step 5: Adding Deep Rose Madder in the middle of the canvas. Adding more water to the acrylic to create a transparent colour. When the Deep Rose Madder is starting to dry, applying another layer of Australian Sienna above, on top and below the centre.
Always have the canvas on the edge to help the paint to run down.
Hope you had enjoyed this demonstration. Happy painting!!
A beautiful saturday morning in Sydney and an amazing friend with talents and taste are all you need to create the perfect photoshoot. What else!!!
Yesterday morning was all about creation and display. It was an amazing experience to create the best possible story to showcase the arts from Art on Surface for my website, blog, etsy and facebook page.
With a passion for detail and creative flair for style, elegance and beauty, Greta was able to create the perfect story to enhance the colours and textures of the artworks and bring them to life.
