Colour by Victoria Finlay

From time to time I immerse myself in a book and for the New Year resolutions I have decided to do more of it so I can seek and share more information about colours.

Victoria's book Colour - Travels through the paintbox is for me diving into the history and discovery of colours. From the first page, she is giving the reader a glimpse of what will be the journey into the book.

" I had thought, when I set out my travels - when I first tumbled through that paintbox - that I would somehow find, the original stories of colours, something pure. It was a naive Garden of Den moment, and of course I forgot about the rainbow serpent that had to be there in order to make it a real paradise. In the historical and chemical paintbox I have found more corruption, poisonings, wars and politicos than even the Medicis could have appreciated. Killer wallpapers, capital punishment for people using the wrong dyes, and beautiful blue stones which murder the lung of those who find them under grounds...."

I will share my experience and as I have started by blog of colours starting with Yellow on Artshine website, I will start with this colour first.

Stay tuned for more...

Ps: I will soon add mail chimp onto my blog so if you to become a member you will receive my newsletter.

Have a great week
